Technical Author

Morson are currently recruiting for an Aerospace Technical Author.  This is a HYBRID role where you will be required to be on site for 60% of the time across the week. Based with a world leaving aerospace manufacturers in Filton Bristol. This is initially an 8 month contract although highly likely to be long-term. 

PAY RATES:

£48.18 per hour umbrella or £36.42  per hour PAYE (plus £5.29 per hour holiday pay). 35 hours per week (flexible start and finish time) 

The successful candidate must be capable of authoring maintenance procedures and parts catalogues.  Experience with Aircraft fuel systems is desirable in addition to writing maintenance and troubleshooting manuels. Full specification is available on request:

Core role duties:

  1. A.   TECHNICAL/AUTHORING ACTIVITIES
    1. Ensure and maintain compliance with EASA/FAA regulations (ICA process) and EN9100 for the own technical scope and perimeter of responsibility.
    2. Using of the technical expertise to manage all authoring activities for the own technical scope of the jobholder.
    3. Technical focal point for other domains and companies (design office & customer services & subcontracting companies & suppliers).
    4. Assess aircraft design criteria (e.g. Service Bulletin, Customer Originate Change, MPM, drawings) for technical manual impact. Collect all associated necessary source data from design office, component manufacturers and suppliers (RSP, NSP).
    5. Alert in case of non identified impact on others ATA chapters or manuals respective work sharing partner in other domains or local lines.
    6. Define product manual revision/creation target and ensure associated deliverable follow up.
    7. Writing of maintenance or trouble shooting or material or wiring procedures.
    8. Manage A/C configuration at A/C MSN level for all written procedures in order to ensure that Technical Data accurately reflects the aircraft configuration.
    9.    Ensure program tasks harmonization.
    10.    Ensure source data verification for coherence and technical consistency.
  1. B.   SUBCONTRACTING ACTIVITIES MANAGEMENT
    1. Manage Technical Data & Services Subcontracted Activities in accordance to AP2539 with support of business operations department, quality focal point or others as necessary at ATA or workpackage level.
    2. Ensure information flow of referential revision/creation on subcontractor’s side.
    3.    Focal point of contact in all matters for criteria like RFI/RFR, MPM, SB, COC, drawings. Ensures that all requests are answered/incorporated in time and according to the Customer Support rules.
    4. Provide guidance to technical authors (subcontractors) in the accomplishment of their tasks related to customer daily queries e.g. for applications and interpretation of product requirements and associated processes.
    5.    Assess KPIs issued by Business Operations department  and launch associated correctives actions.
    6.    Monitor recovery reports (action plans) from subcontractor when required.
  1. C.   VALIDATION & VERIFICATION ACTIVITIES 
    1. Define priorities and proofread maintenance or trouble shooting or material or wiring procedures (internal production).
    2. Define priorities and perform incoming inspection of maintenance or trouble shooting or material or wiring procedures (external production).
  1. D.   DESIGN CRITERIA MANAGEMENT
    1. Contribute to the design criteria assessment.
    2. Ensure integration and management of all design criteria impacting Technical Data products
